About

Where it began…

A Studio Without Walls and a Heart on the Road

Hi, I’m Lorraine, the artist, dreamer, and driver behind The ArtStop, a traveling art studio on wheels that brings creativity back to nature.

I created this space for people who want to slow down, reconnect, and make art in a way that feels free, relaxed, and real.

For me, art has always been less about perfection and more about presence, the joy of colour on your hands, the sound of birds nearby, the quiet satisfaction of creating something just because it feels good.

So, I built a mobile art studio that could travel wherever inspiration lives: along coastlines, through forests, across open fields, wherever nature invites us to pause and create.

How It All Began

This all started with a simple idea: what if making art could feel like taking a deep breath?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved making things. Art was just my happy place. When I was little, I even won some awards, but somewhere along the way, I hung up my paintbrush and got busy with life.

But art never really left me. When I’m sad, I turn to it. When I’m struggling, I turn to it. When I’m happy, I still turn to it. It’s the one thing that always makes me feel like me. One day I realised, this is where my passion’s been all along.

I just want to help other people feel that same spark, to slow down, to create, to feel good again. Because making something with your hands, even something small, reminds you how good it is to be alive. I wanted to help others reconnect with their creativity without pressure, just paint, nature, and good company.

That’s how The ArtStop became a creative rest stop, a place for people to pull over from the noise of everyday life and find calm, connection, and colour again.

Now, I host outdoor art workshops, mindful painting sessions, and nature-inspired creative retreats across Northern Ireland and beyond. Each stop is different, but the feeling is always the same, open skies, open hearts, open minds.

A Studio Without Walls (But Sometimes With One!)

While my heart is outdoors, painting under trees, by rivers, or in wide-open fields I also love hosting indoor workshops from time to time.

You’ll sometimes find me running sessions in beautiful community halls, cozy studios, or local creative spaces when the weather turns or when we collaborate with local partners. The energy is just as warm it’s all about connection, creativity, and rest.

Whether we’re surrounded by trees or walls, my focus stays the same: helping you reconnect with your creativity in a way that feels natural and joyful.

What I Believe

I don’t believe art should feel intimidating.

You don’t need to be an artist – you just need to be curious.

Every workshop I run is about slowing down, playing with colour, and remembering that creativity isn’t something you lost, it’s something you can return to, anytime.

Here’s what you can expect when you join me:

💗 Gentle guidance, space to explore, and no pressure.

💗Inspiration drawn from the natural world around us.

💗A friendly, welcoming atmosphere — whether we’re outdoors or in.

💗 A creative pause in your busy world.
